A signalling fault caused delays for at least 15 high-speed cross-border trains, resulting in a 45-minute disruption to northbound services in Hong Kong on Sunday morning.
The Transport Department reported at approximately 8:30 am that the MTR Corporation had alerted authorities to delays in high-speed rail services stemming from a signal fault.
By around 9:15 am, the department confirmed that the MTR had resolved the signal issues, with high-speed rail services gradually returning to normal operation.
Passengers were advised to consult the official 12306 train service app or the MTR website for further details.
According to 12306, at least 15 northbound trains experienced delays, including services bound for Futian, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Zhangjiajie, Xian, Tianjin, and Chengdu.
Some passengers expressed frustration regarding the disruption on the Chinese social media platform RedNote.
