The House of Representatives approved legislation on Thursday aimed at constraining military escalation with Iran, as Democratic lawmakers made a final push to limit potential military action before Congress departed for a month-long recess.

The measure, spearheaded by Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-Washington), passed with a vote of 214-208. Four Republican representatives — Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Warren Davidson of Ohio, and Tom Barrett of Michigan — joined Democratic colleagues in supporting the resolution.
