Houston’s offense found its rhythm in the second half, showcasing the team’s true potential.
The Texans outscored the Titans 14-0 in the final two quarters, outgaining the home team 137 to 96 yards. Defensive standout Will Anderson Jr. led the charge with three sacks and four tackles.
The victory marked Houston’s first win of the season, improving their record to 1-4, while the Titans remained winless at 0-5.
Ka’imi Fairbairn contributed four field goals in the first half, from distances of 45, 35, 26, and 53 yards. The scoring continued when C.J. Stroud found Jaylin Noel on a 9-yard touchdown pass, following a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Stroud himself.
Stroud completed 26 of his 34 pass attempts for 261 yards and a touchdown, with Xavier Hutchinson leading the receiving corps with four catches for 65 yards.
In contrast, Titans quarterback Cam Ward completed 23 of 36 passes for 170 yards and an interception. Tyjae Spears fumbled, and Wan’Dale Robinson was the top receiver with six catches for 53 yards.
Ward faced constant pressure, being sacked four times and hit on seven occasions.
