Hubble Data Uncovers Evidence of Second-Generation Planet Around White Dwarf HS 0209+0832

A white dwarf represents the stellar remnant remaining after a star exhausts its nuclear fuel and sheds its outer gaseous layers. In this formation scenario, a second-generation planet would coalesce from that ejected material, yielding a chemical composition fundamentally distinct from planets that formed concurrently with their host star.
