US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has reiterated his assertion that the United States would not exist without Israel, even after President Donald Trump remarked that Israel would not exist without the United States.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Jewish News Agency in West Jerusalem on Sunday, Huckabee said his earlier statement—“without Israel and its Jewish foundation, there would be no America”—had sparked controversy. He argued that Western civilization rests on Jewish and Judeo‑Christian foundations.
“Without that, there would be no United States. It’s that simple,” he declared.
Huckabee also expressed that he feels safer in Jerusalem than in Washington.
He noted recent tensions in US‑Israeli relations but emphasized the “unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel.”
Last Tuesday, while addressing a settlement conference in the southern occupied West Bank, Huckabee said, “Without Israel, without the Jewish foundation, there would not be America.”
Trump’s comment came hours earlier when he told reporters about potential US involvement in a war against Iran, stating, “Without me and without the United States, there would be no Israel.”
