Humberside Police reported that emergency services were dispatched at 08:30 GMT.
In September, Gourna‑Douath’s teammate Sorba Thomas was also involved in a crash on the same stretch of road.
Paul Nickerson, a resident of the road where the accident occurred, said, “I arrived shortly after the vehicle overturned because I heard the noise.”
He added that had the crash occurred a minute earlier, his wife would have been walking the road with their children, who were on their way to school. “It’s really worrying,” he remarked.
Resident Tracy Evans, who has lived on the road for 19 years, said she has been campaigning for a lower speed limit for about a decade.
She noted that during peak times, “children are coming and going to school, and parents are coming back.”
She stressed that measures must be implemented to prevent a similar incident in the future.
