Humanoids Strut Fashionably in Seoul’s Tech-Infused Catwalk
In a striking display of human-robot collaboration, pairs of model humans and their humanoid counterparts showcased matching outfits on a Seoul runway. The event highlighted a diverse range of styles, from a tasselled blue Texan ensemble complete with a cowboy hat for the robot, to a retro silver puffer jacket and silk dresses reminiscent of 1970s rock star David Bowie.
Each human model and their slimmer android partner took turns walking in unison, demonstrating how clothing designs can be precisely tailored to the unique skeletal frames of robots. Galaxy Corporation, the entertainment firm behind the show, explained that the aim was to explore “how humans and robots can coexist.” CEO Choi Yong‑ho added, “Just as every human is unique, every robot should also be distinct.”
The collection, designed in-house by Galaxy Corporation, is slated for release under the brand “MACH 33” later this year. The robot models appeared to be humanoids manufactured by Chinese startup Unitree, known for their relatively affordable, agile robots capable of dancing, racing, and performing backflips.
Financial services firm Morgan Stanley projects that the number of humanoids could surpass a billion by 2050, although fully autonomous robots remain rare, with most showcased models operating remotely or via pre‑programming.
