In a recent interview, Hunter Biden disclosed that his father, former U.S. President Joe Biden, is struggling with prostate cancer that has metastasized to other parts of his body, causing significant pain. Despite the debilitating nature of the illness, the former president has continued to maintain a public presence to discuss pressing issues.
Speaking with the BBC in an emotional interview broadcast late Friday, Hunter Biden described the situation as deeply distressing to witness.
“The cancer has spread, metastasised into his bones and further,” he stated. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”
The 83-year-old Biden holds the distinction of being the oldest person to serve as U.S. president, a fact that raised ongoing concerns throughout his four-year term.
Throughout his presidency, Biden and his administration faced scrutiny regarding the transparency of his health, particularly following his decision to withdraw from the re-election race after a challenging debate against Donald Trump.
The former president first announced his cancer diagnosis in May of last year, roughly four months after departing the White House.
