Hunter Biden Shares Update on Father Joe Biden’s Metastatic Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

LONDON — Former U.S. President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to other parts of his body and is causing him pain, his son Hunter Biden said in a recent interview with the BBC.

In the wide-ranging interview broadcast late Friday, Hunter Biden became emotional while discussing his father’s condition, describing it as very difficult to witness.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” he said. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”

Biden, 83, was the oldest man to serve as U.S. president, and his age was a significant concern throughout his four years in office. He and his advisers faced criticism regarding the transparency of his health issues, particularly after he withdrew from the presidential race following a challenging debate with Donald Trump.

The former president announced his cancer diagnosis in May 2023, less than four months after leaving the White House.

Hunter Biden noted that the diagnosis has been particularly challenging for the family.

“It’s really sad to watch,” Biden said. “The only thing I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”

However, Biden emphasized that his father remains active and continues to speak publicly on issues he cares about.

“He’s still doing his thing,” he said. “He so believes in this country.”

Biden is scheduled to release his memoir, “Promise Me, America,” after the upcoming midterm elections.
