Hyundai Recalling 96,310 Tucson SUVs Over Instrument Panel Display Malfunction Risk]

Nearly 96,310 Hyundai Tucson vehicles are being recalled due to a software issue that may cause the instrument panel display to go blank while driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall, announced on June 24, affects 2025 and 2026 model year vehicles equipped with gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Specifically, the recall includes 53,886 hybrid vehicles, 39,605 standard gasoline models, and 2,819 plug-in hybrid variants.

The instrument panel display may intermittently reboot during operation, resulting in a temporary blank screen that removes critical information such as speed, fuel level, and warning indicators from the driver’s view.

NHTSA reports that as of June 2026, there have been no confirmed crashes, fires, or injuries in the United States linked to this defect. Officials estimate approximately 1% of the recalled vehicles are affected.

Hyundai will address the issue through free software updates delivered via dealerships or wireless over-the-air transmission for vehicles enrolled in the Blue Link system.

Owners who previously paid for repairs related to this issue will be reimbursed.
