The Eagles’ seminal album, “One of These Nights,” has made a significant return to the UK charts following its recent deluxe reissue. Originally released in the summer of 1975, this fourth album propelled the band to mainstream superstardom with a string of hit singles. More than five decades later, the newly reissued deluxe edition, featuring a remastered original album and a previously unreleased full concert from Anaheim Stadium in 1975, has clearly captivated long-time fans. This resurgence has enabled “One of These Nights” to debut on multiple UK charts this week and re-enter another, achieving its highest-ever performance.
The album has appeared on three UK rankings, debuting on two of them. This week, it launched at No. 21 on the Official Albums Sales tally and concurrently entered the Official Album Downloads roster, which focuses on digital purchases, at No. 53.
These entries bring the Eagles’ total career appearances on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Album Downloads charts to seven. The band’s last new placement on the Official Albums Sales chart, which encompasses both digital and physical sales, was just over two years ago when “To the Limit — The Essential Collection” peaked at No. 14 in April 2024. On the Official Album Downloads chart, the Eagles had not secured a bestseller for over five years, although other compilations like “Live from the Forum MMXVIII” charted at No. 26 in October 2020 before a brief run.
“One of These Nights” also marked a new peak on the Official Physical Albums chart. Although it first debuted on this chart in March 1995, holding its position for three weeks before disappearing, its current return at No. 21 marks its first-ever entry into the top 40 for top-selling physical albums (CD, cassette, or vinyl).
Furthermore, the Eagles have a second presence on the Official Album Downloads tally; “The Complete Greatest Hits” reappeared at No. 66 alongside “One of These Nights” at No. 53. In contrast to the recent re-entry of “One of These Nights,” “The Complete Greatest Hits,” one of the band’s highly successful compilations, boasts a chart history exceeding 200 weeks.
The band’s enduring popularity in the UK was further highlighted by a near miss for the top spot on another albums list. On the Official Country Compilations chart, “Live from the Forum MMXVIII” climbed from No. 10 to No. 2. However, Dolly Parton’s “The Very Best Of” ultimately prevented the Eagles’ live set from achieving its 42nd week at the summit of the country-specific ranking.
