BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads, the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, have officially signed forward Jordan Steinmetz to a contract for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Steinmetz enters his third professional season and his second with the Steelheads. During his debut ECHL campaign last year, the forward recorded 15 points, including 6 goals and 9 assists, in 57 games. Before joining Idaho, the 27-year-old gained international experience during the 2024-25 season in the Central European Hockey League, where he tallied 42 points (25 goals and 17 assists) to lead Snackpoint Eaters Limburg to a league championship.
Steinmetz’s professional career follows a distinguished five-year collegiate tenure. He concluded his college career at Minnesota State University during the 2023-24 season, where he served as an alternate captain and recorded 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in 32 games. Previously, he spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University from 2019 to 2023, accumulating 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) in 122 games and serving as team captain during his senior year.
