Zamir recognized that the strike would be a reaction to the air attacks in Beirut last Sunday, which itself was a reaction to Hezbollah’s drone launches against northern Israeli cities.
An organization stated that Zamir is receiving continuous updates regarding the increasing security situation.
While Zamir noted that there are currently no immediate home front constraints, there could be in the coming hours if Iran attacks.
It is expected that if Iran attacks Israel, as it did last week with around 25 missiles that did not result in any deaths, Israel would respond with air attacks, as it did last week with two waves of dozens of military aircraft.
It is also anticipated that US President Donald Trump would intervene after a relatively brief period, and that a larger war would not be reignited.
