The IDF announced Wednesday that its forces had killed a Nukhba commander in the Khan Yunis area last week. The operative had participated in the abduction of several Armored Corps soldiers during the October 7 attacks, according to the military.
The IDF identified the commander as Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail and said he had taken part in the killings of Capt. Omer Neutra, St.-Sgt. Oz Daniel and Sgt. Shaked Dahan. Neutra and Daniel’s remains were taken into Gaza, along with Sgt. Nimrod Cohen, who was abducted while still alive.
Neutra was laid to rest at Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery in November 2025, after his remains were returned to Israel during the first phase of the US-brokered Gaza agreement.
