The Israel Defense Forces neutralized two senior Hamas operatives in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening.
The military stated that additional details would be released shortly.
Army Radio correspondent Doron Kadosh reported that the deceased were the commander of the Northern Gaza Brigade and the deputy commander of the Gaza City Brigade.
Official sources from the Hamas-run Health Ministry indicated that at least four individuals lost their lives in the strike on Gaza City, according to Reuters.
Both individuals were senior figures within Hamas’s leadership; however, neither was considered a likely successor to the role of Hamas’s military chief, a position vacated by the recent assassination of Mohammed Ouda by the IDF — occurring just 11 days after the killing of his predecessor, Izz ad-Din al-Haddad.
Ouda was added to the list of senior Hamas officials eliminated by Israel since the October 7, 2023 attacks, which include figures such as Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, Mohammed Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and others.
This is a developing story.
