IGI Holdings has finalized its acquisition of Akzo Nobel Pakistan Limited, marking a significant expansion of the conglomerate’s industrial portfolio. The transaction, which has received all necessary regulatory approvals, positions IGI Holdings to leverage Akzo Nobel’s established market presence in the coatings and specialty chemicals sector.
The acquisition aligns with IGI Holdings’ strategic diversification objectives, adding a well-recognized brand portfolio that includes leading decorative and industrial paint lines. Industry analysts suggest the move will strengthen IGI’s footprint in the materials science space while providing Akzo Nobel Pakistan with enhanced access to local distribution networks and capital for operational growth.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Both companies have indicated that existing management structures will remain in place during the transition period to ensure business continuity for customers and suppliers.
