The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has forecasted a 1.3% contraction in Pakistan’s economy for the current fiscal year, followed by a robust recovery with 6.6% growth projected for 2027.
The IMF’s latest economic outlook indicates challenging economic conditions persisting in Pakistan, with the contraction reflecting ongoing structural and external pressures affecting the South Asian nation’s economic performance.
However, the international financial institution’s projections suggest a significant turnaround, with the economy expected to regain momentum and achieve substantial growth by 2027, reaching the 6.6% expansion rate.
