India Secures Dominant Win Over Afghanistan in 2nd T20I – Award Winners Announced

Chasing 160, India reached the target with 31 balls to spare and won the match by 7 wickets, reinforcing their command in the three‑match series.
After taking the toss, India chose to bowl first and restricted Afghanistan to 159/8 in 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran topped the batting table with 37, while Darwish Rasooli contributed 26 and Rashid Khan added 28. Nitish Kumar Reddy emerged as India’s standout bowler, claiming three wickets, and Arshdeep Singh picked up two.
India opened aggressively with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson combining for 88 runs off just 22 balls; Samson’s quickfire barrage reached 57 off 22, and Sharma added 39, propelling India to 82/0 through the powerplay.
Rashid Khan briefly created optimism by dismissing both openers and Shreyas Iyer, but the Indian bowling attack rounded out the chase. Kishan remained unbeaten at 33 and struck the match‑winning six off Rashid in the 15th over, sealing the victory.
The result marks India’s second straight seven‑wicket win in the series and the third consecutive triumph in captain Shreyas Iyer’s leadership.
