The Indian women’s cricket team is set to host Zimbabwe women for a three-match T20I series starting October 16, 2026. All three matches will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, with each game scheduled for a 7:00 PM local time start. This series marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time the two nations will face each other in T20 International cricket.

This series also represents a significant leadership milestone for India. Smriti Mandhana will take charge as the team’s full-time captain across all formats for the first time. Having previously led India in 18 T20Is with 11 wins, six losses, and one no-result, Mandhana steps into the role with substantial experience. Shafali Verma has been appointed as her deputy, while former captain Harmanpreet Kaur remains a key part of the squad.

Jemimah Rodrigues will miss the series as she continues her recovery from a hamstring injury. Consequently, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav, and Bharti Fulmali—despite being part of the recent Asian Games squad—have been omitted from the T20I group.

Zimbabwe, led by captain Josephine Nkomo, has retained the same squad that competed in their recent series against the West Indies. In that tour, the team secured an ODI win but lost all three T20I matches.
