The official draw for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 competitions occurred on Thursday, positioning India’s women’s cricket team to face Japan in the quarter-final stage. This encounter marks a pivotal knockout phase fixture, with both teams striving for semifinal advancement. India’s women’s squad claimed gold at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, signaling their strength moving into this continental event.

Harmanpreet Kaur will captain India’s women’s team, while Smriti Mandhana assumes the deputy role. A win for India would progress them to the semi-finals, where they would face either Bangladesh or China, contingent on other quarter-final results. The women’s cricket competition is scheduled from September 17 to 22, with all matches in T20 format and full international status at Korogi Athletic Park, Aichi Prefecture.
