IonQ Reports Record Q3 2026 Revenue of $173.8 Million, a 336% Year-over-Year Increase
IonQ reported third-quarter sales of $173.8 million, significantly exceeding analysts’ expectations of $141.2 million. The result marked the sixth consecutive quarter of record revenue for the company. Strength extended beyond the top line, as IonQ posted adjusted earnings per share of negative $0.29—a narrower loss than the $0.79 analysts had anticipated.
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Inder Singh credited the strong quarter to global deployments of IonQ Tempo quantum computers, deliveries of quantum sensing and space-based solutions, and the acquisition of SkyWater, which also recorded a strong quarter.
IonQ raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance. The company had previously projected 2026 sales of $450 million to $460 million and now expects revenue of $505 million to $515 million.
IonQ provides a full-stack quantum computing platform and characterizes itself as the first and only company to deliver quantum computing hardware integrated with all major cloud platforms, quantum programming languages, and quantum software development kits.
Is IonQ Stock a Buy?
Despite today’s rally, investors seeking exposure to quantum computing may still find the valuation reasonable. Priced at 25.4 times trailing sales, IonQ trades at a discount to its five-year average sales multiple of 103.5.
Because IonQ is not yet generating organic cash flow, the investment carries significant risk. For investors comfortable with a speculative position, however, the current share price may present an opportunity.
