Iran Mourns Late Supreme Leader Khamenei Amid Ongoing Regional Tensions]

The streets of Tehran have been filled with massive crowds participating in public mourning ceremonies for Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who passed away at the beginning of the US-Israel conflict in February of this year.

A funeral procession made its way through the capital’s landmark Enghelab Square, where mourners gathered holding Iranian flags and red banners symbolizing martyrdom and the desire for vengeance.

The BBC’s chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet is reporting from Tehran on condition that none of her material is used on the BBC’s Persian Service. These restrictions apply to all international media organisations operating in Iran.
