- Hostilities intensify between Tehran and Washington over the critical maritime corridor
TEHRAN: Iran’s parliamentary lawmakers have advanced legislative measures targeting the Strait of Hormuz, the nation’s primary security committee leader announced Tuesday. Ebrahim Azizi confirmed the formal submission of the “Strategic Action for the Security and Sustainable Progress of the Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Gulf” bill in parliament, timed alongside recent Iranian missile strikes that successfully neutralized U.S. reconnaissance drones in the region. The legislative initiative aims to formalize Tehran’s maritime security protocols amid ongoing aggression from American forces operating near the strategically vital waterway.
