Iran Proposes Seven-Day Plan to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Amid U.S. Blockade

Tehran has presented Washington with a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days, seeking to de-escalate a maritime standoff that has disrupted global shipping lanes. The initiative comes as U.S. Central Command confirmed it has diverted 122 commercial vessels to enforce a blockade targeting Iranian oil exports.

Iran’s Foreign Minister emphasized that security in the strategic waterway cannot be restored through military measures, urging a diplomatic resolution to the crisis that has rattled energy markets and raised fears of a broader regional conflict.
