In Los Angeles, Iranian‑American demonstrators gathered to oppose Iran’s national team, which they allege is tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iran forward Mehdi Taremi said this week that rising US‑Iran tensions “undermine the joy” of the tournament.
