MAHMA/TEHRAN: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced they had targeted US military facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, according to state media reports released on Monday.

The Guards’ official news agency IRNA cited multiple statements indicating attacks on Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, a US drone command center in Bahrain, and bases including Ali Al Salem in Kuwait.

Bahrain’s interior ministry reported air raid sirens sounded following assaults on the island, prompting authorities to advise residents to seek shelter, as tensions escalate in the Gulf region.

“The siren has been sounded… citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the Ministry of Interior posted on X.

Iran stated on Sunday it was closing the Strait of Hormuz and launched missiles and drones against regional neighbors after the US conducted additional strikes, as their conflict intensifies.

This escalation follows an Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the strait earlier, which ignited and forced the crew to abandon ship.

The latest hostilities undermine interim diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions after US-Israeli operations in late February resulted in the death of Iran’s supreme leader.

Mediators continue seeking a resolution, though President Donald Trump recently declared a ceasefire agreement.
