Irish authorities said they will work with Jordanian police on the murder probe, according to the country’s justice minister.
On Tuesday, Gardaí reported responding to an incident at a residence in Killarney, County Kerry, where a woman in her forties was found deceased.
Local sources identified the victim as Jamey Carney, a New York native who had resided in the area for roughly five years and lived with her daughter.
On Thursday, investigators said the individual they wished to interview in connection with the killing had already departed the country.
Speaking to RTÉexternal, Irish Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan declared: “No matter where you are, the Gardaí will pursue you.”
Gardaí confirmed they are collaborating with international law enforcement agencies as part of the investigation.
Interpol and Europol have been notified about the case, according to RTÉ.
