Israel’s Ministry of Defence announced that it is taking part for the first time in a Moroccan defense exhibition, unveiling its inaugural national pavilion at the 2026 Marrakech Air Show.

“This represents Israel’s first official appearance at a Moroccan defense exhibition since the Abraham Accords were signed,” the Defence Ministry stated in a Thursday release.

The ministry noted that eight Israeli defense firms showcased advanced, combat‑tested technologies at the Marrakesh event, which continues through Saturday.

The Marrakech Air Show, held from October 7 to October 10 at the Marrakech Royal Moroccan Air Force Base, is a biennial event that showcases the latest innovations from civil and military aerospace and space sectors.

“Israel’s three leading defense companies—Elbit Systems, IAI, and Rafael—also participated, displaying solutions spanning air, land, sea, space, intelligence, cyber, and digital domains,” the statement added.

The announcement underscores the deepening relationship between Morocco and Israel, which normalized ties in 2020 under the US‑brokered Abraham Accords.

Last month the two nations agreed to upgrade their diplomatic relations, raising their missions to embassy level and exchanging ambassadors.

This development followed a meeting between the foreign ministers of Israel and Morocco, hosted by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York.

They also committed to expand air links, including restoring direct flights operated by airlines from each country, and scheduled high‑level bilateral visits for the months ahead.

Morocco is likewise among the five nations that have pledged troops to Gaza under the U.S.-supported International Stabilization Force, a component of former President Donald Trump’s so‑called Board of Peace initiative.
