An Israeli drone strike killed a Palestinian man and injured several others in southern Gaza, while Israeli settlers fatally shot another Palestinian in the occupied West Bank, deepening ongoing tensions and civilian casualties.
The deceased, identified as 42-year-old Tamer al-Hamayda, along with three wounded individuals, were transported to Nasser Medical Complex following an airstrike on a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
A separate drone attack on Tuesday in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza claimed another life, with the victim succumbing to injuries sustained during the strike, according to medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex.
Additionally, Israeli forces conducted a major demolition operation targeting structures east of Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported eight new fatalities and 26 injuries within the last 24 hours, raising the overall death toll since the October 2025 ceasefire to 1,439, with 5,052 people injured and 834 bodies recovered from destroyed infrastructure.
Israel’s military operations in Gaza have resulted in over 74,040 Palestinian deaths and 175,168 injuries since October 2023, per figures from the Gaza Health Ministry.
Settler Violence in the West Bank
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers killed a Palestinian man during an incursion into the village of Yasuf, located north of Ramallah, on Thursday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The victim, 51-year-old Mashhour Yassin, died from gunshot wounds inflicted by settlers, officials confirmed. Another individual sustained injuries during the same incident.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the raid, alleging that Israeli forces had confiscated an ambulance, removed its keys, and abandoned the vehicle. The ministry characterized the action as evidence of collusion between settlers and occupation forces.
“This act is part of a broader pattern of escalating settler violence orchestrated with implicit state support,” the ministry stated, accusing Israel of enabling “terrorism against our people under the guise of settlement expansion, annexation, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing.”
Yasuf’s mayor, Jumaa Abdel Fattah, told AFP that dozens of armed settlers launched an assault on the village, which sits between four Israeli settlements. He described how Yassin was shot while attempting to protect his family home.
“He was at his doorstep when the settlers stormed the village. He came out to defend his house and was killed,” Abdel Fattah said, noting that Yassin’s nephew was among those wounded.
The mayor identified the attackers as originating from Havat Anton, an unauthorized Israeli outpost established in July, which has previously clashed with local residents.
Palestinian communities across the West Bank have reported a sharp increase in settler-led attacks in recent months.
Over 500,000 Israeli settlers now reside in West Bank settlements deemed illegal under international humanitarian law.
The United Nations has documented at least 1,112 Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank since October 2023, including 37 killed by Israeli settlers, according to UN records.
