Israel’s ambassador to the US identifies injured soldier as his son, Neria Dov ben Chana.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, confirmed that his son, soldier Neria Dov ben Chana, sustained injuries during an alleged vehicle-ramming incident at a checkpoint west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian individual following an incident they characterized as a vehicle-ramming attack.
Leiter posted on social media that medical teams are “struggling to save the life” of his son.
The attack occurred after a vehicle collided with Israeli soldiers stationed at a checkpoint near Beit Horon settlement, according to Israeli police.
“As a result, the soldier was wounded and is receiving treatment. The attacker was eliminated by Israeli forces,” police stated.
Israel’s emergency response teams transported the injured soldier to a hospital under serious medical conditions.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the deceased as 29-year-old Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Suleiman and reported that Israeli authorities have retained his body.
Danny Danon, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, conveyed solidarity with Leiter, stating, “All of Israel is praying for your son … who was critically wounded in today’s deadly attack.”
Leiter’s other son, 39-year-old Moshe Yedidya, was killed during his service in Gaza in November 2023, shortly after the October 7 conflict began.
