The High Court of Justice froze the appointment of attorney Michael Rabello, who was elected as the next state comptroller earlier this month.

The temporary suspension was issued on Wednesday, just days before Rabello was scheduled to assume office.

The decision, signed by Supreme Court President Isaac Amit, Deputy President Noam Sohlberg, and Justice Dafna Barak-Erez, stated that the freeze is necessary to complete the legal process and issue a final ruling on the matter.

The court indicated that the final decision would be delivered “at the earliest convenience.”
