The US-Iran agreement reached through Pakistani mediation has been deemed “bad for Israel and the entire free world,” Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said on Monday, Anadolu Agency reported.

“The joint campaign achieved many successes in weakening Iran, and it will not go to waste,” he said on the social media platform X.

“We must continue the effort to topple the regime ourselves in creative ways, ensuring Iran never acquires nuclear weapons,” he added.

Smotrich warned that Tel Aviv might be tested in Lebanon and pledged to “continue acting” to grant the Israeli army full freedom to push Hezbollah back.

Earlier this week, former US President Donald Trump announced that a peace agreement with Iran had been finalized. The deal is said to include a halt to hostilities on all fronts, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of a US naval blockade on Iran.

Despite the announcement, the Israeli army kept conducting airstrikes over southern Lebanon on Monday.

Lebanese officials report that these attacks have killed more than 3,700 people, wounded nearly 11,500, and displaced over 1.5 million since March 2.
