Yakir Levy, a prominent figure in the Israeli docu-reality series The Americans, passed away at the age of 45 on Tuesday following a tragic fall from the 28th floor of a hotel in Miami.
Levy, a native of Ramla, rose to public prominence over the past year after being featured on Channel 13’s The Americans, a show that explores the journeys of Israelis who have relocated to the United States while achieving significant professional success and preserving their cultural identity.
He is anticipated to be laid to rest in Israel, though specific funeral arrangements remain unconfirmed. He is survived by his wife and three children.
In the series, Levy shared his personal journey of immigration to the U.S., revealing that he initially arrived with minimal financial resources.
“I came with $300 in my pocket and turned it into millions,” he stated. “I did it little by little, with a lot of hard work and dreams. I can do anything my mind sets out to do.”
Levy later established a thriving enterprise focused on restoring properties damaged by natural disasters. “Along the way, I’m also rebuilding people’s lives. Whether they’re abused women, drug addicts, or former prisoners, I took in the people nobody else wanted,” he remarked in a prior interview.
Social media influencer Lee Alon, who also appeared on The Americans, honored Levy’s memory.
“There are moments that are simply impossible to process. I just can’t believe it,” she wrote. “Even though we didn’t know each other for many years, he left me with the memory of a truly great person, with a huge heart, a warm smile, and an energy that was impossible to forget. My heart is simply broken. I’ll remember you forever.”
