Israeli Man Wounded in Stabbing Incident During West Bank Violences
Israeli forces intensify search in Jordan Valley after occupant stabbing attack in al‑Ajuna
Following a stabbing assault that left an Israeli individual severely injured, Israeli armed forces have launched extensive sweep operations across the Jordan Valley.
The victim, a adult male in his twenties, suffered moderate injuries according to law enforcement officials.
The perpetrator evaded capture after completing the attack, prompting the army to deploy a substantial security presence and implement roadblocks within the village as well as neighboring zones.
The defense force confirmed it has maintained continuous engagement with local residents and allied security personnel via official channels.
A Palestinian militant organization declared the operative as retaliatory, citing alleged Israeli violations and recent escalation around the Al‑Aqsa Mosque complex.
This episode occurs amid a marked uptick in settler-driven violence against civilians in the occupied West Bank since the resurgence of hostilities in Gaza in October 2023.
United Nations humanitarian data records a total of three thousand thirty‑three attacks attributed to Israeli settlers between January 1 2025 and June 30 2026, a figure that climbs to 1,831 in 2025 and reaches just over seven hundred during the initial months of 2026. That averages close to one hundred ninety incidents per month in 2026, up from one hundred fifty‑three in 2025—a twelve‑percent rise in monthly frequency.
Gas bombs fired, entrance closed at al‑Mughayyir
Separately, a second incident unfolded earlier in the day where Israeli troopers deployed gas canisters and sealed the western gateway of al‑Mughayyir village, located north‑east of Ramallah.
Footage captured soldiers releasing incendiary devices while preventing villagers from crossing the passage.
Palestinian agency Wafa reported that Israeli troops detained residents, subjected some to field examinations, and allegedly mistreated adolescent males.
The report noted the western corridor remains the sole exit for the settlement following the shutting of the eastern portal in October 2023.
