A video showing Israel’s United Nations ambassador offering a Starlink terminal to an Iranian delegate has amassed roughly nine million views across social platforms. Analytics provided to Fox News Digital reveal that approximately 40 % of the video’s Instagram audience originates from Iran, a reach that surprised the Israeli mission.
A spokesperson for Ambassador Danny Danon told Fox News Digital that the office had not anticipated such a strong reception in Iran, noting that Israeli diplomatic accounts rarely attract large followings in that market.
The representative commented, “We couldn’t have imagined this level of popularity,” underscoring the unexpected resonance of the clip within Iran.

The interaction stemmed from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly, where he highlighted a Starlink device as part of a message directed at the Iranian public.
According to Danon’s representative, Netanyahu had prepared the Starlink element for his address and requested that the device be presented to the Iranian delegation after the speech. Danon approached an Iranian delegate with the terminal, an exchange captured on video.
The Iranian delegate declined the offer.

Danon subsequently posted the encounter on social media, where the video quickly went viral.
Instagram analytics shared with Fox News Digital indicate that 39.9 % of viewers were located in Iran, the largest national share. The United States accounted for 14.3 % of the audience, followed by Israel (12.6 %), Canada (5.9 %) and Germany (4.1 %).
The ambassador’s office described the high Iranian viewership as particularly significant, emphasizing that the Starlink offer symbolized freedom and freedom of expression for the Iranian people.

However, Danon’s office reported that a secondary online trend emerged alongside the spreading video.
The mission identified accounts it believes belong to Iranian users recirculating a 2023 footage of former Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan being escorted from the General Assembly during a protest against then‑Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
The original video dates to September 2023, when Erdan walked through the assembly hall holding a photograph of Mahsa Amini during Raisi’s address.
A recent repost of the older clip has amassed hundreds of thousands of views, incorrectly framing the incident as a contemporary confrontation involving Israel’s current UN envoy.
Danon’s representative labeled the renewed circulation a “disinformation campaign” intended to diminish the impact of the original video.
“From our perspective, the Danon video moved something in Iran,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital, suggesting that the Iranian regime was attempting to “change the story.”
