During Friday’s weigh‑in, tension escalated when Itauma pushed Hrgovic off the stage; Hrgovic responded with a slap, leading to a brief scuffle that required security intervention.
The pair then exchanged an expletive‑laden face‑off before Hrgovic moved to the front of the stage, prompting Itauma to shove him again and causing the Croatian to lose his balance.
Hrgovic regained his footing and struck Itauma in the face, after which security separated the fighters.
