WWE performer Jacy Jayne has candidly disclosed the significant mental shift required when transitioning from the independent circuit to the global stage, admitting she needed to approach her craft with a clean slate.
In a recent interview with Cameron Hawkins for Uncrowned, Jayne detailed the transition from the independent scene and the necessity of abandoning her established instincts.
“When I got to the Performance Center, I felt like I had to erase everything I knew about wrestling and relearn it all over again,” Jayne said. “WWE has a very specific way that they like things. So in order to get on TV, you have to adapt to their style — and it is a completely different style.”
Following several years on the independent circuit, Jayne signed with WWE NXT in 2021. Early in her tenure, she joined Mandy Rose’s Toxic Attraction, later moving to Chase U. It was her subsequent membership in Fatal Influence that ultimately revitalized her career trajectory.
Similarly, Finn Balor has alluded to the same experience regarding adapting to the WWE style and moving on from his NJPW moveset when he joined NXT.
