Jaguar Land Rover Expands Recall to 15,535 Vehicles Due to Rearview Camera Drainage Defect

A total of 15,535 vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2025 may be affected by a recall addressing a rearview camera drainage issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The agency states that insufficient drain holes in the tailgate trim could cause water to accumulate near the rearview camera, potentially damaging it and impairing visibility during reversing maneuvers, thereby increasing crash risk.

Jaguar Land Rover has documented 100 U.S. customer reports related to the defect, with no reported incidents of crashes, injuries, or fires. Owners are advised to contact dealerships for a free inspection, where technicians will replace the camera if necessary and drill additional drainage holes in the tailgate trim.

Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed by September 11.
