Jamie George will lead an unchanged England lineup against Argentina in the upcoming Nations Championship fixture in Buenos Aires, with players opting against displaying national jerseys on site.

He will earn his 113th cap for England, placing him fourth on the nation’s all‑time list of most‑capped male players.

Head coach Steve Borthwick has introduced two alterations to the replacement bench, naming Ben Spencer and uncapped prop Emmanuel Iyogun among the reserves.

Head coach Steve Borthwick discusses how he shapes team culture within the England rugby side

Ellis Genge and Ollie Chessum have been appointed as England’s vice‑captains for the Santiago del Estero fixture, scheduled to commence at 8:10 p.m. BST.

“We are eager to meet the challenge of facing Los Pumas in Santiago del Estero,” said Borthwick.

“We anticipate a vibrant atmosphere fueled by enthusiastic home supporters. The occasion promises to be a memorable one for the squad,” he added.

The squad was present in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to watch the FIFA World Cup semi‑final between England and Argentina.

To support the English football side, the squad wore national jerseys during the recent quarter‑final match against Norway, which they viewed from Liverpool after a victory over Fiji earlier that day.

“I believe that, given our current circumstances and the opposition, we have acted prudently in limiting the display of English shirts,” lock Alex Coles told The Telegraph.

“Our reception in Liverpool was more favorable than it may be here,” he added.

“I am a great enthusiast of football, and many of us share that passion. We watched the recent match at a rooftop bar in Liverpool after our weekend game, and the atmosphere was exhilarating,” he continued.

“Representing our nation in rugby fills us with pride, and that pride extends to our enthusiasm for watching England compete in any sport, especially during a World Cup. The global excitement surrounding football is unparalleled,” he noted.

“Football uniquely captures the world’s imagination in a way few other sports can. It holds a special place in my heart, having been my first love before rugby and cricket,” he concluded.
