More than a year has passed since Jane Remover released her explosive surprise LP Revengeseekerz, an album widely recognized as one of the best of 2025. The prolific hyperpop artist is known for her consistent output and aversion to long periods of silence. Last August, she briefly uploaded and then deleted a surprise mixtape on SoundCloud. Now, she has returned with another surprise album, this time operating under the alias Leroy. Titled status update music, the 15-track record features a blend of chaotic sounds and unexpected samples. The artist’s Bandcamp page describes it as “my life as I lived it from may 2025 to may 2026.” Notable song titles include “CROWDKILLING 101” and “GET UGLY.” A prime example of the album’s experimental nature is the second track, “XO TOUR LLIF3,” which combines Sleeping With Sirens’ 2011 emo classic “If You Can’t Hang” with Ellie Goulding’s 2015 hit “On My Mind” into a digicore maelstrom.
