Tokyo has proposed to host a permanent secretariat for the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). This strategic move aims to position Japan at the forefront of the trade bloc’s expansion, with the new administrative unit tasked with efficiently processing an increasing volume of membership applications.
