Japanese Breakfast frontwoman Michelle Zauner has reached several milestones in her career. An influential indie rock artist and bestselling author, she recently earned her first gold record following the release of her album Jubilee, which marked its fifth anniversary a few weeks ago.
During her set at New York’s Governors Ball festival, Zauner made her pregnancy announcement by revealing a prominent baby bump on stage—echoing the approach taken earlier this year by fellow artist Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield. Although the artist has hinted at her pregnancy during recent appearances at Kilby Block Party and Outside Days, the Governors Ball moment was the first clear public acknowledgment.
After her performance, she shared an Instagram photo with her guitarist husband Peter Bradley, captioning it simply, “jpreggie!”
As Jubilee celebrates its fifth year, listeners and fans are invited to support Zauner both as an artist and soon‑to‑be mother.
