New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is set to undergo knee surgery today, according to league sources first reported by The Post.
Following the planned repair of his left‑knee MCL, PCL and meniscus, Dart is approaching rehabilitation with the same intensity Patrick Mahomes displayed after his ACL injury last season.
His recovery is projected to take four to six months, and head coach John Harbaugh has not dismissed the possibility of Dart returning for the playoff push.
Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who coached Mahomes in Kansas City last year, noted on Thursday that Dart shares a comparable determination to come back stronger than ever.
Mahomes is already showing MVP‑caliber form to open the 2026 season for the 2‑0 Chiefs.
“I went through it last year with the quarterback I coached, and you saw how he attacked rehab from the very next day—that’s exactly what Jaxson will do,” Nagy said after Thursday’s practice. “I just saw him over there, and he joked that he’s ready to go right now; he’s eager to be back out there.”
“But that’s just who he is. It’s part of his journey. This experience will make him stronger, and we need to be there for him, recognizing that what he’s accomplished so far has been solid. When he returns—whenever that may be—it will be a beautiful moment.”
