John Cena concluded his wrestling career in December 2025 holding the record for most WWE World Championships at 17, a milestone many believed would remain unassailable. The record was tied with Ric Flair and cemented during Cena’s final in-ring competition at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025, where he defeated Cody Rhodes to surpass Flair’s previous total of 16 titles.
On a recent episode of the “Something to Wrestle” podcast, JBL, a former rival of Cena, praised Randy Orton’s potential to break this record. JBL noted that Orton, currently at 14 titles, is positioned to surpass Cena’s mark with additional reigns. “He may end up holding the championship more times than anybody,” JBL stated. “He’s at what 15 right now—or 14, whatever it is. A couple more, he ties Cena. I think there’s a good chance he does it and I think he should.”
Orton last claimed the WWE World Title in late 2020 during a reign that concluded with him overcoming Drew McIntyre. Despite his accolades, Triple H, who shares Orton’s total of 14 titles, retired from in-ring competition in 2022 following severe health complications, ending a storied career.
JBL further highlighted Orton’s enduring talent, recalling a pivotal moment in his career. “Randy, when he came out and threw a punch in the corner, that old Bob Orton punch—it looked so freaking good. The crowd just perked up, and suddenly, the whole show changed—but it changed because of Randy,” he remarked. “Randy’s got so much talent. I do think he’s one of the greatest of all time.”

The Blues have already initiated discussions with West Ham regarding a potential deal for the Dutch forward, with reports suggesting swap arrangements may be discussed as part of any negotiation. According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea’s interest in Summerville comes amid uncertainty surrounding Alejandro Garnacho’s position at Stamford Bridge, with the Argentina international potentially available following his disappointing debut season. Chelsea to bring in Summerville as upgrade on Garnacho? Chelsea have undergone significant squad changes under new ownership, which may explain their lack of progress this season. However, Garnacho’s performances have raised questions about his long-term prospects at the club, with many fans remaining unimpressed by his contribution since arriving from Manchester United last summer. Summerville would represent a clear upgrade on both Garnacho and Jamie Gittens, another recent signing who struggled to make an impact. The 23-year-old winger scored 13 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions last season, demonstrating his proven Premier League capability. Should Summerville choose Chelsea or United? If Summerville secures a move to Old Trafford, he would likely prioritise joining Manchester United given their current Champions League participation and apparent stability under new management. The Dutch international’s potential departure from West Ham appears imminent following the club’s relegation, with Mateus Fernandes already having left for Tottenham. His exit would free up resources for West Ham’s rebuild while providing Chelsea with a sought-after attacking option.
