John “Bradshaw” Layfield maintains that there is no possibility of Vince Russo assuming the role of WWE Creative Head, while acknowledging WWE’s interest in engaging him. According to the latest episode of Something to Wrestle, Conrad Thompson referenced JBL’s report that Russo had held exploratory discussions with WWE this year, a claim corroborated by Fightful and PWInsider. JBL emphasized that incorporating diverse creative perspectives is valuable, lauded Triple H and Nick Khan for their effective work, and noted that he would have a stronger opportunity to join the creative department than Russo. On the Chance Vince Russo Will Become Head Of WWE Creative:

“Zero. Now look, when you have creative, you bring in guys with all kinds of different ideas. So if they brought him in, I think something like that could make sense. Because when you’re doing creative you want every type of input you can get, and if Vince Russo had input, he would be able to bring all kinds of stuff. Maybe the ideas worked, maybe they didn’t work. But when you’re pitching ideas to creative people, sometimes you pitch something and they end up somewhere else — but they got there because of what you pitched. So to bring Russo in or something like that, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility. Would he be the head of creative? No, I don’t think so. My opinion is that Triple H and Nick Khan are doing a great job.”

On Why He Doesn’t Expect Any Changes:

“I don’t think it will happen. I think they’ve got to be happy. I know creative is subjective, but they’re selling out big-ass arenas. They’re making a ton of money. What more do you want? I understand you can always get something better. And these guys have got 50 hours of television a week. I’m exaggerating, but you get the point. They’ve got so many things that they’ve got to try, and some things are definitely not going to work. The same with Vince, the same with Jim Crockett, the same with Eddie Graham, the same with Fritz. But what you have to look at is the overall trend, and the overall trend for WWE is absolutely fantastic. So I think Nick Khan and Hunter are doing a terrific job. I think Jeremy Borash and Undertaker are lighting it on fire down at AAA.”

On WWE Reaching Out To Vince Russo:

It seems logical that WWE reached out to Vince Russo, given his history of mentoring staff and his influence behind the scenes. JBL acknowledges Russo’s past contributions and believes there is merit in engaging his experience, while emphasizing that creative decisions ultimately depend on broader strategic considerations.

On Whether He Or Russo Is More Likely To Join WWE Creative:

JBL suggests he would have a greater likelihood of securing a creative position within WWE, though he insists his own candidacy is uncertain.
