Manchester United are preparing a January bid for Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is available for transfer, according to TeamTalk.
Mateta sought to join AC Milan during the 2026 winter window but failed a medical. He won the Conference League with Palace but remains eager for a new challenge. A hamstring injury blocked a summer move, though he could still depart in January. With his contract running until June 2027, Palace are keen to sell him rather than lose him for free.
United have long admired the French striker and look set to make a formal approach. Joshua Zirkzee has struggled for game time at United, and his exit could facilitate Mateta’s arrival. Zirkzee is attracting interest from Everton, Juventus, and Roma.
