During a Thursday night performance, Jelly Roll halted his show to confront online speculation surrounding his divorce from Bunnie Xo, whom he had been married to for a decade.
At his Little Ass Shed Tour stop in Saratoga Springs, New York, the country musician explained that this would be the sole occasion on which he would comment on the circulating rumors. “The internet is a liar,” he stated to the audience at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. “My wife and I are best friends, and we will remain best friends.” He added that they had spoken earlier that day and emphasized, “Nobody cheated on anyone.” He further instructed viewers to tune into his wife’s newly released *Dumb Blonde* podcast, which dropped that same evening, affirming, “Every statement is true.”
Before proceeding with the concert, he reiterated, “She will always be my best friend. This is the only time I will ever discuss this matter. Bunnie, I love you, baby. Thank you for the past ten years, and for the friendship we will continue to share in the years ahead.”
Earlier that Thursday, Bunnie covered their IVF journey and the challenges they encountered on her podcast, noting that despite their separation they continue to plan a child together.
She explained that his low sperm count required hormone treatments and medication, which dramatically altered his behavior. “He became a completely different person,” she said, adding that she and Jelly Roll remain close friends despite their divorce.
She disclosed how arduous the process has been, stating, “For the past year and a half I have felt like a shell of my former self while undergoing IVF. I am fighting to produce enough eggs to create a baby with my husband, especially given my age.”
“He’s still my fucking best friend,” she declared. “You’ll be surprised to learn that we are still expecting a baby… We have become one of the most unconventional couples you’ll ever hear about.”
Bunnie and Jelly Roll married at a Las Vegas chapel in 2016. As his career ascended, he frequently credited her as a pivotal support, especially during financially strained years. Seven years later, they renewed their vows at the same venue; Bunnie later shared on Instagram, “Before we walked into that chapel, you took my hands, looked me in the eyes, and promised, ‘Bunnie, our life won’t always be this way. We’ll get through it together.’ I never imagined the challenges ahead, but I was ready to face them beside you.”
