Rob Zangardi’s Auter Line Positions Luxury Coats as the Season’s Frontrunner

“Having worked with remarkable garments and designers over her career, she has yet to locate the coats she truly adored. As a stylist, she understands how a well‑chosen outer layer can reshape an entire appearance—and even the attitude behind it. Thus, she sought to design pieces that could become the full ensemble in themselves.”
Zangardi prioritizes physical comfort, precise sizing, and subtle details such as hidden fastenings, toggles, or integrated belts, believing they allow a garment to feel both timeless and current.
“She wants someone to slip the coat on and feel the whole ensemble complete, then stay with it. Let the coat dictate the mood and keep the remaining pieces uncluttered. A superior jacket can transform basic denim‑and‑t‑shirt ensembles into curated looks, or inject fresh dynamics into a dress. She also celebrates when clients personalize their coats—adjusting waistlines, adding collars, using optional openings.”
Beyond premium fabrics, Zangardi devotes equal attention to finishing touches.
The first AUTER piece was a fox‑fur garment crafted with Jennifer in mind, and she proudly wore it firsthand.
When styling Jennifer for cooler weather, Zangardi works from the outside in, taking the coat as the primary framework for the entire look.
“For Lopez’s upcoming season, his wish list highlights a subtle nod to menswear.”
“I’m loving the richness of alpaca, mohair, and cashmere, and silhouettes that offer gentle volume and movement,” he shares.
“I’d love to see Jennifer in one of our green men’s alpaca topcoats. Green is her favorite colour, and I love the idea of a relaxed, generous shape paired with something simple beneath. There’s something uniquely compelling about ‘her coat, worn by her,’ especially when she makes it entirely her own.”
