Jeremiyah Love dominated college football, leading the nation in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and total touchdowns for two straight seasons at Notre Dame. He earned the Doak Walker Award in 2025 as the nation’s top running back and was a Heisman Trophy semifinalist.
The Arizona Cardinals selected Love with the No. 3 overall pick, giving him ample opportunity to replicate his collegiate production.
Despite his résumé, Love says he has no individual milestones for his rookie year.
“I’ve learned throughout my time playing football that personal goals don’t get you where you want to be. It’s all about the team at the end of the day,” Love told NFL.com on Monday. “As long as you do your part, the personal accolades usually follow. My goal is to gel with this team, do whatever Coach Mike LaFleur asks of me, and execute to the best of my ability.”
Love is a frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year, ahead of Fernando Mendoza and Carnell Tate, yet the 2025 All‑American says the award isn’t on his mind.
“That’s always been my approach,” he added. “I set goals, but they’re always tied to the team. In college I aimed for the Doak Walker and the Heisman, but those achievements depended on doing my job for the team. Everything is interconnected, so I keep my focus team‑oriented.”
“Football is a team sport. A running back can’t succeed alone—you need a solid offensive line, a quarterback who can read defenses, and receivers who stretch the field. When the team performs well, individual success follows.”
Although Love excelled last season, Notre Dame missed the College Football Playoff, and he played through a knee injury in the 2024 National Championship loss to Ohio State, recording six carries for eight yards.
