While the complete roster for “Avengers: Doomsday” remains undisclosed, Jeremy Renner confirmed he will not reprise his role as Hawkeye, suggesting the team may struggle without him.
When asked about his involvement in the upcoming film, Renner responded firmly: “No, I’m not part of ‘Doomsday.’ Without me, the Avengers are likely to fall short— they simply didn’t reach out, so any shortcomings are on them.”
Although he won’t be returning as Hawkeye for “Doomsday,” Renner expressed enthusiasm for the theatrical re‑release of “Avengers: Endgame,” which hit theaters ahead of the December 18 debut of the new movie. He has previously portrayed the character in “The Avengers,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and “Endgame,” and made cameo appearances in films such as “Thor” and “Captain America: Civil War.”
In 2025, Renner indicated he would be open to rejoining the MCU, whether through a second season of “Hawkeye” or another project. “I’m always eager to return to that universe,” he told Empire. “I adore the cast and the character, and I expect we’ll move forward with Season 2 of ‘Hawkeye’ and other opportunities. I’m ready for it—my conditioning is improving, and I feel confident I could handle the physical demands, even if that means suiting up again.”
He also noted that he has recovered more than 150 percent from his 2023 snowmobile accident, putting him in a position to perform his own stunts for future Marvel productions. The incident involved a Sno‑Cat weighing at least 14,330 pounds that ran over him, fracturing eight ribs in multiple places, breaking his right knee and ankle, left tibia and ankle, right clavicle, right shoulder, and sustaining additional injuries.
